It's Sunday morning and the house is quiet. The others are asleep. I'm sitting here listening to boleros in my earphones and looking out at the back of my living room.
Soon, we will be having lunch and our day will begin. I've already checked in with the hotel and there was no correspondence to answer. So, I'm basically twiddling my thumbs. But that's ok. Rosiesent me the above picture from when they were at their condo, down in Florida. That's Jared, her son-in-law and Kaitlin, her daughter. Ken was behind the camera. She said that they had a wonderful time down there, between the beach and restaurants. She told me that the water was so clear, she could see below. They were on the Mexican gulf side of Florida. The water is totally different on the Atlantic side, as I remember.
This morning, I clicked over to my property, TheCypressBuilding.com and there, I'm featuring a wonderful poem in The Peachtree Room, there, titled "Why Me?" and it has a great message to it. And in The Highland Room, I'm featuring one of my favorite singers, Helmut Lotti as he sings "Love belongs to everyone". It's beautiful.
And in other news, I have started my manuscript for my book.
In retiring, the first thing I did was to redesign this website that I have had for 12 years for a place for my hotel colleagues to be able to come to and congregate and for me to be able to remember my career of many years. Now, the second and final thing that I am doing as I close the long chapter of my career and begin a new one is to write down my thougths on my career and what I learned - in the form of a book. And so, I have started my book. We'll see how it goes. At this point, I'm sketching out on a notebook, my ideas.
And speaking of manuscripts, yesterday, Hugh sent me his latest story. I told him I'm going to put them together (all that he's sent me over the years) and sell them for a million dollars!
