"With a few flowers in my garden, half a dozens pictures and some books, I live without envy."
Hi friend. If you are reading this, let me suggest you click on this link. Then come back here and you'll have beautiful music playing in the background while you read.
This Monday, David and I were at lunch when I became light headed. I subsequently passed out (2nd time in a month) and came to as they were calling an ambulance. I told them to hang up and I had him take me to an urgent care place around the corner from the restaurant that we were at. The physician on duty thought that I might be having a heart attack and he told me to go to the emergency room, which I did. Once admitted, they took an ekg, a chest xray and blood work. Then they took me to the waiting room lobby and told me that when a bed became available, that they would call me. I waited 15 hours. 15 hours! The waiting room was PACKED. They didn't have enough beds. Somewhere along the line, I realized that I must NOT have had a heart attack or else they wouldn't have left me there. I made friends with two people while out there and one is now my Facebook friend because of it. But it sort of does defeat the purpose of an "emergency" room if they make you wait 15 hours, don't you think?
Finally at 7:00 in the morning of the next morning they came and got me and took me to my room where they hooked me up to a heart monitor machine. They kept coming in and checking my blood pressure first, by having me lie flat on my back. Then, they had me sit up and they would take it. Then, they had me stand up and they would take it. They did this several times. They also hooked me up to three bags of fluids. And they had a blood pressure cuff on my arm and every few minutes, it would kick on and take my pressure without anyone being in the room. Come to find out, they were monitoring me continually from their station. I asked the little nurse waiting on me if she knew my niece, Kaitlin. And she did know her (Kaitlin is a nurse in another department, there)
I had met the physician when I first got back there and then she left. But at the end, she came back in and told me that I had NOT had a heart attack and that, indeed, my ekg looked good and so did my blood enzymes. She told me that the culprit for me was that I was dehydrated and had no sodium. That's why they had given me all of those fluids. I was very happy to hear that. After I was discharged, we went and got something to eat because I had not eaten in a day NOR had I slept. Then we stopped at the store and got some Gaterade (at her suggestion) and we went home where I immediately went to sleep. Today's a new day and I'm alot better. And I'm so glad to know that my heart is ok. I already had an appointment scheduled for the 23rd coming up and I intend to discuss my dehydration problem with my cardiologist because it happens often.
Besides my family, I've had a number of people text me and call me, which I appreciate. Hugh weighed in too.
Today, in The Highland Room, here at TheCypressBuilding.com, I'm featuring a WONDERFUL concert. It's a take off of The Three Tenors: three men with wonderful voices but well, go watch it. The first song, I guess, is to establish their classical abilities but do NOT leave (in case you don't like classical music). I have watched this concert many times and I know you will like it. Do give it a listen.
And while you are in The Great Hall, also visit The Peachtree Roomwhere there is a wonderful poem being read with a very great thought. It's simply called "How did you die?" With Her Majesty having just passed away and with me thinking I might, I thought this was timely. Do listen to it.
Today was spent with beautiful music in my ear as I paid bills and answered hotel correspondence. Elenasent me some pictures to include in our social media for the hotel. Then Happy took me on my walk and back for more music and coverage of the death of Her Majesty the Queen. I've been told tostados are in our future tonight. Yum, yum.
