Today, in The Highland Room, out in The Great Hall, I'm featuring a wonderful new artist I discovered, Dennis van Aarssen, singing "You don't know me". He's great. And in The Peachtree Room,I'm featuring the poem by Edgar Albert Guest, "Life is what we make of it" for a second day.
There's a story in the news of a young man who was shot SIXTY times by the police, last week. SIXTY TIMES!!! I'm behind police. I VALUE police. I feel we NEED police.
The criminal fled the police in a chase. He shot at them. When he exited the car, he had on a ski mask. There was a gun in the car. HOWEVER, as he fled the car, they had his infomation. They could easily identify him. It was NOT necessary to shoot him sixty times. In fact, it wasn't necessary to shoot him at all. They could have easily apprehended him later. In light of all the negative press that the liberal press gives police, they should have used their heads. What they have done is not going to help their case. And what they did to this unarmed man (at the time) was nothing but murder. And they should be held accountable.
