This is Hilaria. She's one of the housekeepers at the hotel I recently retired from. And because I still handle their social media for them, they sent me this picture to post. It was her birthday and they had taken her and the crew out to eat. She's such a sweet girl. Also, she was my neighbor when I lived in Atlanta. We lived a stone's throw from one another. She's originally from Mexico but speaks great English and we all love her. Happy Birthday, Hilaria.
Today is one of my long time Facebook friend's birthday and so on her page, I had posted the song I always post when my friends have a birthday. It is of Dame Shirley Bassey singing "Time after Time". There's a line in the song: "I'm so lucky to be loving you" and I think it's such a great thing to post on someone's page when they have a birthday. So, I do. And so today, in The Highland Room, out in The Great Hall of TheCypressBuilding.com, I'm playing this song. I know that I just featured Dame Bassey in a full concert, but I hope that you will forgive me for posting another of her songs so soon. But it is a wonderful piece and I believe that you will enjoy it. And in The Peachtree Room, I'm playing for another day, Simerjeet Singh's piece on "What to do when life makes you wait". The message in his piece is so good, that I want to play it again.
We just recently moved from the largest city in Georgia, Atlanta, to the largest city in Alabama, Huntsville. Atlanta is known for its horrible traffic. And the traffic is "busy" here but not like in Atlanta. Yesterday, we went into the city to have dinner at Red Lobster. Look at the afternoon traffic (or lack of). It's a piece of cake compared to Atlanta.
We came here to enjoy their salmon and cheese biscuits; especially their cheese bicuits. But when we got here we changed our minds when we saw that they had a special hamburger from Japan. David wanted to try it so we both got one. And indeed, it was good but I didn't think it was worth what we paid for it. I couldn't really tell that there was anything special about it; just another hamburger. But I filled up on their hot and gooey cheese biscuits (which is why I wanted to come in the first place).
When we got home, I had a number of emails to answer for the hotel and then, I got news that Kaitlinhas COVID. It's a miracle that she had not already had it considering that she is a nurse. If you haven't already, let me encourage you to apply for American Express' Skymiles card. Click "My current offer" below to learn about it
